I’m building my Food computer in Berlin Germany
Where: Berlin, Berlin, Germany
When: 4/13/2016 <-- American way MM/DD/YYYY
I’m currently in Boston, but live in Seattle.
Hey!! So stoked to have a place for the community to gather. Sorry if you have emailed me personally and gotten no response. We are clocking 50-100 emails a day from #nerdfarmers! I am amazed at how fast the community is growing all over the world and I’ll be more accessible here than anywhere else.
Hi from San Francisco everyone! I’ve built Rose, the Food Computer, with help from the wonderful people at TechShop SF.
@adrianlu It’s so awesome that you’re documenting your food computer build https://www.instagram.com/p/BD_8nqyryZO/. Do these docs live somewhere? Could we link to them or fold them into a GitHub repo for other makers?
@gordonb Thanks. I’m planning on starting a GitHub repo soon. I’ll let you know when I have it up. I should be able to get to it this weekend if that’s alright?
currently doing my PhD in condensed matter physics in Canberra, Australia and diligently spreading the idea of digital farming - all I need now is physical proof that it works!
Since this doesn’t entirely fall under the category of fundamental physics I was wondering if there’s an extremely large learning curve to get started? Will there be an introductory thread for new farmers ?
Hey everyone, I’ve started my build in Bend Oregon. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone’s progress and contributing to this small community!
My son and I are building our food computer. He is almost 5 years old and is super excited for the quality project time with me. We are blogging our way through it as well. http://jsinykin.blogspot.com
We are team of engineers working on agro-techs and PFC has gotten our prime spot. Completely excited about our build…
I tried to contact you through linkedIn , but its great you have given a forum like this to interact.
A couple buddies and I are putting together one of these in the great white north (Calgary, Alberta, Canada)
We were literally talking about how cool it would be to make a open sourced local growing platform a few weeks ago on a road trip. Little did we know one already exists - excited to put one of these together! Very cool project you folks on the Open Agriculture team have put together. I’m excited to see the food server designs as well.
Hey folks! I’m building in Dubai, UAE- Anyone else based in the Middle East?
I’m a student of the FabAcademy at the GreenFabLab (www.greenfablab.org) in Barcelona working on Open Aquaponics (http://archive.fabacademy.org/archives/2016/greenfablab/students/365/). I would like to hack the PFC and adapt it to Aquaponics. @openag: have you already consider / work on PFC for aquaponics ? If so, would be glad to have your insights about it before
I’m the Exhibition Technician here at the Science Gallery in Dublin, Ireland. I built a PFC for our current show ‘Field Test’ which is about the future of farming/OpenAg/etc:
I’ve been distracted by our other touring shows, but will be back working on it within the next couple of weeks.
Good to be in the gang!
Hey! My team and I are planning to incorporate aquaponics into our FC as well! Would love to keep in touch and share ideas
I’m not based in Dubai but will be there next week for a conference… are you building it in conjunction with a group? Fablab Dubai? maybe or similar?
HI all ! Got most of my stuff in now… wil start building soon here in the Netherlands.
I do have some questions though on the choices of materials… will post them elsewhere.
Nice to meet you all. Are you all coming to the summit in Amsterdam ??
